This article walks you through selling a gift card in person when the recipient will redeem it later — the balance doesn't go straight into their Patient Wallet. Instead, Prospyr generates a unique redemption code that the recipient uses to add the balance to their own wallet when they're ready.
Sell the gift card
Start an invoice. Open an existing invoice or create a new one for the person purchasing the gift card.
Click Add Gift Card. You'll find this option on the invoice.
Enter the gift card amount. Type in the dollar amount you want to place on the gift card.
You can add more than one gift card to the same invoice.
You can also include services, retail products, packages, or memberships on the same invoice.
Click Pay Now. Review the invoice before continuing.
Collect payment. Select the payment method the purchaser is using, enter the amount being collected, then click the payment button to complete the transaction.
Give the purchaser the redemption code
Provide the receipt. Choose one of the following:
Click Print Receipt to give the purchaser a printed copy.
Click Send Receipt to email it to them.
The receipt includes the gift card's unique redemption code.
Tip: Treat the redemption code like cash — anyone who has the code can redeem the gift card. Encourage the purchaser to keep it safe and hand it directly to the intended recipient.
What happens next?
When the recipient is ready to use the gift card, they (or your team) redeem the code to add the balance to their Patient Wallet. Once redeemed, that balance can be applied to an invoice at checkout.
