Before you begin, make sure you have:
The phone's MAC address and serial number, located on the label on the underside of the phone
Your office WiFi network name (SSID) and password
The phone number or extension you want assigned to the device
Step 1: Navigate to VoIP Devices
In Prospyr, go to Settings > VoIP & SMS > VoIP Devices.
From the VoIP Devices page, select Add Device to begin setting up a new Yealink phone.
Step 2: Add the phone
Enter the phone's MAC address and serial number, which can be found on the label on the underside of the device.
Be sure to enter both values exactly as they appear. An incorrect MAC address or serial number will prevent the phone from provisioning successfully.
Step 3: Assign the phone to a phone number or extension
After adding the device, assign it to the appropriate phone number or extension in Prospyr.
Note: This step is required for the phone to receive incoming calls. If the phone is not assigned to a phone number or extension, it can place outbound calls but incoming calls will not ring on the device. You can use 101 as a default extension.
Step 4: Power on the phone
Connect the phone to power using the included power adapter or a Power over Ethernet (PoE) connection if your network supports it.
Allow the phone to finish starting up before continuing. This may take a minute.
Step 5: Connect the phone to WiFi
From the phone's display, open the network or WiFi settings and select your office WiFi network.
Enter the WiFi password using the phone's keypad and confirm the connection.
Keep the following in mind:
Repeated key presses cycle through letters, numbers, and symbols when entering the password.
Double check the password before connecting, as the phone does not display the password for verification.
If your WiFi network does not appear, manually enter the network name (SSID) exactly as it is configured.
After entering the password, allow a minute or two for the phone to establish a connection.
Step 6: Allow the phone to provision
Once the phone is connected to WiFi, it automatically downloads its configuration from Prospyr.
During this process, the phone may restart. This is expected. Do not unplug or power off the phone while provisioning is in progress.
Provisioning is complete once the phone finishes restarting and returns to the home screen.
Step 7: Verify the phone is working
After provisioning is complete, confirm the phone is working as expected by:
Placing an outbound test call.
Calling the assigned phone number or extension from another phone to verify the Yealink phone receives incoming calls.
If both tests are successful, the phone is ready to use.
