Requiring Lot # & Expiration Date for Products

If your inventory consumables have lot numbers and expiration dates, learn how to enable them here

Setting up your inventory system to track lot numbers and expiration dates helps ensure product quality and compliance. Here’s how to enable these features, whether you’re updating an existing product or adding a new one.


For Existing Products

Step 1: Find the product in your inventory list. Click the Edit button next to the product.

Step 3: Under Required fields, click Require Lot #.

Step 4: If you want the product to have an expiration date, check the expiration date box. Enter how many days before expiration you want to receive a notification.

Step 6: Click Save Changes.


For New Products

Step 1: Click Add Product.

Step 2: Fill out the product information fields.

Step 3: Check Track Lot Number.

Step 4: If you want to track expiration dates, check Track Expiration Dates.

Step 5: Enter the number of days before expiry to receive a warning. Click Create.

Step 7: Click Continue and set up any inventory you currently have on hand. The product will now prompt for a lot number and expiration date when inventory is added.

Requiring lot numbers and expiration dates gives you better oversight of your inventory, helps manage recalls, and keeps your inventory up to date. It’s a simple way to protect product quality and maintain compliance.
