How to Use the Commission Report

See how much commission and gratuity each provider has earned, filter the results by date, provider, or location, and export the data you need.

Before You Begin:

Before using the Commission Report, make sure commission plans have already been set up for your providers. The report calculates earnings automatically based on each provider’s commission plan, including the percentage or flat amount they earn on services and retail products they sell.

This article covers how to view, filter, and export the Commission Report. It does not cover how to set up commission plans.

Open the Commission Report

  1. Go to Reports > Custom > Commission V2.

This opens Commission Reports, which has five views you can switch between using the dropdown next to the breadcrumb: Dashboard, By Provider, By Category, Earned Gratuity, and Commission Line Items.

Filter Your Results

Every view shares the same three filters at the top of the page:

  • Date range — Defaults to Last 30 days. Other options include Last 60 days, This quarter, Year to date, Last 1 year, Lifetime, or Custom range, which opens a calendar so you can pick your own start and end dates.

  • Providers — Defaults to All providers. Select individual providers, or use Select all. When you filter down to specific providers, the button updates to show how many are selected (for example, Providers: 1).

  • Locations — Defaults to All locations. Works the same way as the Providers filter.

Note: If there's no commission data for the date range you've selected, the report will show "No commission for this range yet."

Switch Between Report Views

Dashboard gives you a quick summary: total Commission, Top Category, Earned Gratuity, and Commission Line Items (transaction count), followed by a table breaking commission down by provider — Lines, Revenue, Gratuity, Service Comm., Retail Comm., and Total Commission, with a totals row at the bottom.

By Provider lists each provider's total commission and number of sources. Select a provider's row to expand it and see the individual transactions behind that total — including the transaction date, item, quantity, basis, rate, and commission. Each transaction shows a Rule tag — select it to see which commission rule was applied and how the amount was calculated (for example, Commission plan earns 10% on Services — $840 × 10.00% = $84).

By Category works the same way as By Provider, but groups commission by service category instead. Expanding a category shows the transactions behind it, including which provider each one belongs to.

Earned Gratuity lists each provider's total tips and number of invoices. Expanding a provider's row shows the individual invoices and amounts, with a link to open each invoice.

Commission Line Items shows every commission transaction in one flat, sortable table — transaction date, type, provider, item, quantity, revenue, gross margin, gratuity, and commission, with a link to the invoice. Results are paginated, 25 at a time by default.

Customize and Export

On the Dashboard and Commission Line Items views, select Columns to choose which columns appear in the table. Lines, Revenue, Gratuity, Service Comm., Retail Comm., and Total Commission are shown by default — you can also add Practice Income and Gross Margin.

To get your data out of Prospyr, select Export, then choose:

  • Summary table — totals only

  • Detailed reports — every provider

  • Detailed report — one provider

Note: The Providers and Locations filters both use the same pattern: select Select all, or check the individual items you want to include.
