Learn how to create an AI receptionist, customize its greeting, voice, and behavior, enable capabilities, configure warm transfers, add playbooks for common call scenarios, and test the experience before making it available to callers.
Step 1: Go to Settings > VoIP & SMS > Voice Routing.
Step 2: Scroll to the bottom of the page and click New Agent to start creating your AI receptionist.
Step 3: Enter a name for your agent and choose the voice you prefer. Click on each voice to hear a sample.
Step 4: Type the greeting your AI will say first when answering a call.
Step 5: Add a description of the voice style, friendly, polished, discreet, confident, concise, or any qualities you want.
Step 6: Add a disclaimer for emergency handling.
Step 7: Enter general instructions for your agent. Include tips on how to answer, reply, or any details to mention on every call.
Step 8: Choose which Capabilities your agent should have. Enable or disable features by checking the box depending on what you want your agent to handle.
Step 9: Set up warm transfers. Choose staff members the AI can transfer calls to.
Step 10: Click Add to display playbook options. These are preset instructions for the agent when handling common situations such as first time callers, price shopper, etc.
Step 11: When everything’s ready, click Create Agent to finish setup.
Step 12: Test your agent. Click Test Voice to start a session and try out typical questions and created call flow.
Step 13: Click Start Session to begin asking practice questions for the AI receptionist.
