Requiring Lot # & Expiration Date for Products

This tutorial guides you through the process of enabling an inventory product to have an expiration date and track a lot number.

Step 1:

Start by navigating to Settings.

Next, select Inventory.

Choose the product you want to work with.

Step 4:

Fill out the usual data such as the vendor.

Step 5:

To track a lot number, click on required fields and select lot number.

Step 6:

If you want the product to be expirable, check the corresponding box.

Step 7:

Specify how many days before the expiration you'd like to receive a notification. For instance, you might choose seven days.

Step 8:

If you want to receive a warning when the quantity drops below a certain threshold, check this box and specify the threshold.

Step 9:

Once you've completed these steps, click Save.

Step 10:

Now, whenever you add a consumable to this product, you'll be asked for a lot number and an expiration date.

Add the quantity of units and their price per unit.

Finally, set an expiration date in the future.
