In this article, you'll learn how to set up inventory for an injectable consumable product and manage it efficiently.
Step 1: Start by navigating to the settings.
Step 2: Proceed to the inventory section.
Step 3: Click on inventory.
Assume that the consumable product is not in your inventory.
Step 4: Click on add product.
Step 5: Create a new injectable product, for instance, diskport.
Step 6: Set categories for classification and organization.
Step 7: For an injectable, select lot number as a required field. Optionally, you might also select batch number. Set a warning for when the quantity falls below a certain threshold or if the item can expire.
Step 8: Set the number of days before expiration, for example, 14.
These fields are for convenience and to save you time when using the consumable.
Step 9: Click create.
Step 10: To track inventory, click the plus button to add the consumable.
Step 11: Select the vendor supplying the product.
Step 12: Choose the location for the inventory. For single location practices, select your location.
Step 13: Enter the quantity you're receiving, for example, 100 units.
Step 14: Enter the cost per unit.
Step 15: Enter or scan the lot number of the file.
Step 16: Set the expiration date.
Step 17: Save your entries.
Now, you have 100 units of the injectable ready for use.
Step 18: Associate the product with a service in your catalog. Click on catalog.
Step 19: Navigate to diskport.
Step 20: Scroll down to the inventory product section.
Step 21: Add the product you just created.
These are optional fields, mainly for convenience.
Step 22: Click update service.
Step 23: Create an appointment.
Step 24: During an appointment with services requiring a consumable, you'll see a button guiding you to set the lot number used for a particular patient. This also helps manage your inventory counts.
Step 25: Resolve the requirement.
Step 26: Enter the lot number.
Step 27: Enter the quantity used, for example, 15 units.
Step 28: Click submit.
And you're all set!
